World Cup fever has been and (nearly) gone. England have started miserably with two draws against the minnows of the group. Arguably the toughest match left and nothing less than a win is required/demanded. Of course the newspapers have been vitriolic but on the other hand even the mighty Spaniards lost their first match, so let's all calm down, eh? Eh?
I have joined the ranks of the Androids telephone-wise. Everything is a little more clumsy than my iPhone but so far so good. Maybe I should even stick with this telephone for a while. Pigs might fly, mohaha.
Two more working weeks before the summer break.
Come on England! Shit or bust time. JeFoe needs more time to work his magic, let's just hope he gets it. It's all over before its time, otherwise. Boo.

I'm just looking...

She's so high
Summery-ness has arrived and not a moment too soon, either.
Since last I blogged, dear readers, I have had a landmark birthday. I'm happy to report, however, that there is life in the old dog yet. Nothing appears to have fallen off in the meantime, so I shall carry on as normal for as long as I'm able, heh heh.
The World Cup is a couple of weeks away and I'm looking forward to it immensely. As I am to the trip to Blighty that has been booked this last week. It's been way too long. The jaunt will encompass the north of England, south Wales and a few stops in between. Beer, quite possibly, will be consumed.
This week I have been mostly wearing...no socks.

My heart, a silent violin
Hmmm. It's been a while.
Since last I blogged, Spurs sealed fourth place in the Premier League (and Champions League qualification) with one game to spare via an impressive win at Man. City. There was even an outside shot at third spot - at the expense of the Gooners - but I shall gloss over the last day of the season. Either way, it was a magnificent campaign and next season is something to look forward to. Truly.
This was the second short (although still mind-numbingly boring) working week in a row for me, with the "squeeze-day" and Bank Holiday and all.
This weekend has been spent on Käringön and in Fiskebäckskil. Champagne and strawberries on the rocks by the sea in the sunshine. Ah. Strawberries and sunlight - what's not to like about that? It'll soon be summer, eh?
Mmmm...violins.

Keep going...
Check out this wine label, mohaha. It'd never be allowed these days, eh? Loosely translated, the name of the wine is "Bend over, I'll smack your arse". Erm, possibly.
I started off this beautiful, bright, sunny day with a run. Amazingly. All was going swimmingly until with about a hundred metres left, I felt a pull in my calf. I'm like the (fat) Ledley King of weekend runners. Maybe I should also not train between every "match"? Oh, wait, that's exactly what I do now...hmmm.
Talking of which, the Mighty Spurs go into the last week of the season in the Champions League places. The small matter of a match against fifth-placed Man. Shitty (and their millions of pounds) on Wednesday now looms large. Avoiding defeat there should be enough, but a win would seal it there and then before the final game of the season. Oh, the drama!
Today, I snoozed in the sunshine, flat on my back. Najs.

Well I'm not superstitious
Uh-Uh! Vill ha.
A slightly less spectacular weekend for the mighty Spurs, but fourth place is still on at the moment. Conceding two penalties at Old Trafford is never going to help the cause especially. It's going down to the wire and no mistake.
Today I have mostly been outside (and slightly hungover). Which is nice. The outside part, obviously, not the slight (very slight) "tenderness of head" associated with last night's drinking. Good job I'm a professional, eh? Today's run can wait until another day.
The temperature seems finally to have settled into double-figures - at least during the days. I still have to scrape the windscreen most mornings, though. Summerwheels are on the motor too. Much better. Have I mentioned that before? Ahem.

If your eyes are wanting all you see
A sunny Sunday afternoon in April. Spurs rounded off a spectacular week of football (last Sunday's loss in the Cup notwithstanding) by deservedly beating Chelsea again yesterday, a few short days after the win against the Gooners. A magnificent display and with just a few matches left we're in the Champions League places still. Masters of our own destiny. Come on!
The dawn of a new era possibly. Just like old times.
It's nice to reminisce - think back to all the good times...

What are you waiting for?
Cup Semi Final day. Half-time. 0-0. Come on!
Spring has finally landed - the lake looked like a giant Slush Puppie (TM) this morning but the last of the ice has almost gone after a day of bright sunshine.
Ah, to be outdoors. It's been a long time coming.
Newsflash: Tottenham's season is over. After completely (completely) dominating the whole match, Dawson slips gifting Pompey a goal. Against the run of play really isn't the word. Then a perfectly acceptable Spurs equaliser gets disallowed, for some reason no-one could quite fathom. A late Portsmouth penalty (again, awarded against us for some unseen-by-everyone-else indiscretion), converted by a (formerly useless) Tottenham old boy wrapped up the proceedings.
Fuckballs. Referee...I know where you live.
Bah.

Are you aware you're being illegal?
A lovely cup of char, a few weeks back. 20th of February or so it was. This year it seemed like the snow would never disappear. It pretty much has now.
Fiskebäckskil at Easter. Not at all as warm as it's been here some years, but quite nice when the sun's out. Right now it's pouring down and a handful of plus-degrees. Brrr.
The race for 4th spot in the Premier League is hotting up. Spurs took a step backwards by conceding three penalties (!) and three points away to Sunderland yesterday, but Liverpool at least didn't take advantage. It looks like Man. City are the main rivals now. Hmmmm.
Now, if only I could stop eating and drinking everything in my vicinity Beach 2010 is on the horizon, mohaha. Ah well, there's always next year, eh?
;O)

Plenty of boys in the sea
Another win for the mighty Spurs. The boy Gudjohnsen made all the difference after Super Pav limped off. Najs. With any luck Man Shitty will drop some points today too like Villa did yesterday, heh.
There's still lots of snow hanging about but another week of plus degrees must surely kill most of it off. I hope so, I need to make use of my lovely new chinos (which are absolutely not carrot-fit - why does that sound so nasty to my ears?). It would just be nice to be outside in the sunshine without fourteen layers of clothing at this point. Good things, he who waits and all that I suppose. There'll be plenty of rain soon to do away with it most likely. Back to normal.

I share it all with you
Sunny. Sunday.
Sitting outside with my back against the house, drinking tea and reading in the warm sunlight. Listening to the sound of gentle snowmelt.
This morning it tried to snow again, but luckily it just ended up as a layer of crappy hail pellets on the ground, which has only just reappeared after a week or so of melting (or rather - it's reappeared slightly, in places). Hopefully, that'll be the last of it. It must be Spring soon, surely?
Another win for Spurs yesterday and two more goals from Super Pav. Villa also only managed a draw, so they slip a little further behind. Come on! Some days are better than others.

Ossie's going to Wembley
Ah, sweet, potato-faced Robbie Keane. Will we ever see him back at the Lane?
And check out Bendtner's wonder (own) goal. He rose like a Salmon.
I hope I've not tempted fate now with regards to this season's FA Cup...

It's not the way
Sunshine, a little red car and Erasure on the stereo have conspired to put a big, wide smile on my face. Maybe I'm on the turn...
The temperature might even have strayed above zero for a little while there.

I'm always willing to learn
Spring hobbles into view. Slowly. Well, it's still a few degrees below zero, but the sun is out and there's a slight feeling of thawing. It's gonna take a while, mind, loads of snow still piled up all over.
Whatever - I've foolishly decided that it's here and dressed accordingly. *Brrrr*. Maybe I was a little premature with the Spring wardrobe. Not that it'll stop me, men ändå...
A fantastic week last week for the mighty Spurs. Three wins and hanging on to fourth place in the League (albeit by our fingernails). Quarter finals of the FA Cup today so every game counts at the moment. 1991 and Gazza seems a long time ago. It's about bloody time.

And I feel like William Tell
I drove "behind" this bus the other day. Snigger. You wouldn't find a numberplate like this back in Blighty.
As I "speak" Wales are losing to Scotland. At home. Serious...
Fifth round of the FA Cup themorrow and a tricky tie at Bolton for Tottenham. We badly need to start scoring goals (and hence winning, rather than drawing, matches) again.
The weather's turned a bit colder again and is hovering around ten below most of the time.
This week I've been a bit not myself. Maybe I need the Spring.

I've got a hunger
Saturday. Cold and sunny. The recent snowfall hasn't melted even slightly and the forecast is for continued cold weather. Who'd have thunk it - a real winter in the end?
Mind, it's getting to be a bit of a pain having to scrape the car and wade through all that snow on the way out of the house every morning. It'd be nice to be able to put on some less bulky clothes to go out in too. Spring time seems a long way off right now.
Today the Six Nations begins and hopes are high. Come on Wales!
A tough match for Spurs too - home to Villa. Another six-pointer in the battle for fourth spot and the hallowed Champions League. Let's hope the boy Bentley keeps up his current resurgence in form now he's finally been allowed to play. Maybe Gudjohnsen will figure too.
I've a slight belly ache today. Good job I don't do sick or I'd be feeling sorry for myself. Hope it doesn't turn into anything full-blown. Nothing to do but wait it out. Time will tell...

Previously
Check out my egg!
Magic.
Cold still and lots of snow. Dare I say I'm getting a bit fed up of it? Hmmm. It's not raining which of course is a wonderful thing but I'm not particularly keen on the shovelling side of snow business (there's no business like...)
It's all egg, bacon, beans and a frieeeeed slice.

'If you don't know now
2010 eh? Where did 2009 go?
This year I will be forty years old. How scary does that sound? Good job I've still got it. Ahem. It's not about numbers, it's about figures.
Spurs go marching on. The return match against Liverpool next weekend. Here's hoping we can poss them again this time.
Two more days off before it's back to work. I'll be glad of the peace and quiet heh. Back to normal. It could be worse.
Today we watched Avatar at the movies. Very good too. I somehow managed to avoid having any idea whatsoever what it was about beforehand which is most unlike me. Two hours and forty one minutes flew by.

Dr won't you do with me what you can?
I have been very lax in my blogging duties dear readers. Apologies.
Yule is here. Cue copious over-eating and over-drinking. Every day. I need to get back to the gym. Ok, then, just one more cake / biscuit / crisp / beer / wine mohaha. Good job I'm such a manly studmuffin in the first place really, eh?
Still snowy at Slocombe Towers although the weather has hovered around zero or thereabouts for a couple of days. It's getting colder again now, so a few more snowfalls should fix it all up again. Mera...
Spurs good run continues with an easy win over West Ham so optimism still runs high for the rest of the season. Which is nice.

You've got a funny way of saying hello
As we "speak" it appears that the Gooners are being roundly thrashed by Chelski, which means that the mighty Tottenham will finish the weekend in third place. A little better than this time last year kan man säga.
Sat here with a little glögg and most of the Christmas decorations up. Well, the advent lights and all that malarkey anyhow. Cosy.
Today we've managed to spend a good few hours in Liseberg and pretty much a whole day without rain. WTF?!? That never happens. Mind, it's now "possible icy roads" and the first few droplets are appearing, so...
